Round5
That’s it, end of 5th round of interviews and thereby ends the first round of recruitment @ MIT Manipal. We interviewed 18 people today, that’s almost the same number of people who were interviewed in the first four rounds put together!
Congratulations to the 5 people who who were selected today: Arunav Sikder, Suyog Dutt Jain, Sumiit Paul, Devabrat Kumar and Geetanjali.
The session started off much better than the previous one. We did have some off periods on the middle but at the end of six hours, I and Sarthak were satisfied with the people we had managed to pick. So after 121 applications & 38 interviews, we have the final 12:
Aman Arneja, Sucharita Hazra, Toby Thomas Abraham, Ravi Kant, Yavnika Rathee, Anupriya Mittal, Abhay Khera, Arunav Sikder, Suyog Dutt Jain, Sumiit Paul, Devabrat Kumar and Geetanjali.
I would first of all like to thank Sarthak Raina, aka HR Guy to have patiently reviewed the applications and helped me judge the best during the interview sessions. Seclection for interview wouldn’t have been possible without our ‘behind-the-scenes’ guy, Abhijit Pai aka PAI who did background checks on everyone
and a very happy birthday to him! Oh, and thanks a lot to Café Coffee Day, Manipal.edu building for hosting the interview sessions (please improve the food, rest is perfect). Attached are the images were we held the interviews.
Round 1-4:

Round 5:

The real work begins now but I am confident that my team has the potential; they just need some fine tuning and experience. I had a long tele-conference with Shashank and we are pleased to have got off to a decent start. I hope he succeeds in recruiting more staff from Bangalore soon.
I must get some sleep now as I have plans to hold the first meeting tomorrow if possible. The only problem is venue as most of the boardrooms and mini halls are full.
Later..
