		<description>A blog search would have immediately found my involvement and contact information.

The most basic thing is there were many more students applying than mentors.

We selected both students that had previous experience working with open source and ones that did not. In this case the mentors had the final say on who they wanted to work with.

Applications are a bit of a lottery, and you should not consider not being accepted a poor reflection on yourself.

One last point, although not compensated, if you are looking for experience in open source, I am happy to work with you on being involved in this project or another one!</description>
