Jumbo

A red letter day in the history of Indian Cricket. We hit a massive 664 in the first innings against England in the final test at Oval securing a virtual series victory. Guess what, none of the “batsmen” scored a century albeit quality innings from all of them. And then came the best bowler of India, Jumbo aka Anil Kumble who scored his maiden test century in his 117th test. That sure put the icing on the cake of an illustrious career which is nearing it’s end. I was one of the lucky ones to view the feat, thanks to Tata Sky.
If Sachin is my God, then Kumble is my idol. The insipiring, never-say-die fighting spirit with the combination of deadly leg breaks and flippers will be hard to find for decades to come. He has saved more test matches for India than anybody else. And who can forget the 10 wicket in an innings record? All hail Jumbo!
